OK, well, since I am offing this axel to upgrade my truck, I thought it would be of some value to those who seek info on this unit for swap.
I did some over head views, and bear with this as this was a 1 person photo op... to do this for you all.
I took a measurement of this axel from the inside flange plate to the inside flange plate: INSIDE measurement; the plate that you will assemble the rear dust backing plate for the drum brake system.
This above inside measurement, for me, landed at 48"
Here is where I took those measurements from:
Next...I did a spring perch center line to centerline measurement; that center location of the leafspring as it sits in the spring perch saddles:
That measurement centerline to centerline came out to: 38-1/2".
Next I decided to take an outside spring perch measurement:
That measurement came out to be 41".
The last image here for you is of the spring perch bracket width; outside measurements:
That measurement ended up at 2-1/2".
I hope this is of some benefit, for those of you seeking an S10 10-Bolt 7.5 ring gear rear axel.
Or, for those of you who desire to make your own axel by using these GM numbers.
NOTE: The LUV rear flange to flange measurement, THANX RONDOG!, is 46-1/2".
