Hi folks,

We took apart the transmission on our 81 4-speed 4wd diesel today and found that 3rd speed is crunched baaaad (no teeth left at all). Does anyone know if we could swap the countershaft and 3rd gear of an 82 2wd gas 4-speed and put it into the 4wd or are the countershafts different enough that this wouldn't work?
