when we were swappin the posi rearend into peeroys new truck i found out that the driveline from the automatic luv had the same yoke as a th350. i knew that the luv auto tranny was a th200, but i didnt know that it had the same yoke.

has anyone else ever noticed this??

i mean, you could do a swap with like a th350 that has a 9in tailshaft and it would probably just slide right into the stock driveline. i know that the driveline couldnt hold up to alot of power, but you know.

I've never had a driveline from a TH350 next to the one LUV automatic driveline I have sitting around, but I sort of expected something like that. same trans family and all. Auto LUVs are sort of uncommon though it seems, at least around here. If you are looking to V8/th350 up a LUV, an auto truck is the obvious best choice though, you get all the shifter parts and such which could be useful, plus potentially you could make the driveline work.

As for the strength, I'd bet the driveline would hold up longer than the stock rear end would to V8 power. You might break the yoke or a u-joint maybe, but I'd bet the diff would grenade or a shaft would snap before the driveline would give you trouble.

The saginaw 4 speed I used in my stock car also used the same yoke as the th200 also it was the same length. I was amazed I figured I would be taking a trip to the driveline shop.
