Whats the differance between a 4 four bolt V8 and a two bolt.

some blocks can with 4 bolts per main bearing or 2 bolts per main bearing. like the chevy 350.Please dont ask which is better lol everyone has there opoin.Hope this helps.

Not to confuse the issue but there are two types of 4 bolt blocks. First and most common is where all 4 main cap bolts are straight into the block. A splayed 4 bolt has the outer bolts installed at an angle pointing outward while the inboard cap bolts are still straight. If you find one of these at a swap meet or garage sale GET IT

the splayed 4bolts are typicaly after market. Theres some machinists that can take a 2bolt block and make it a splayed 4bolt. And if yopur looking for a 4bolt small block, look at trucks. Almost all Chevy truck motors are 4bolt mains.
