You'll have a head start with the project. It will require new motor mount brackets. And most likely, the truck already has dual exhaust. A new trans will be needed to match the Chevy bolt pattern but other than that, your driveline remains the same as the V-6 setup. Same shifter, The trans tunnel might need some slight messaging to clear the torque converter housing and possibly the distributor (it depends if you use the Hooker kit or fab custom mounts). Same alternator if you've gone with the Delcotron unit, just use longer wiring once it gets rerouted to the new alt mount.
Even with partial mods done, there's a good bit of work to get things right. That V-8 will fill the enginewell up with almost no room to spare. The headers fit tight, remote oil filter is a must, and dont cut corners with your cooling system (aluminum radiator with an electric fan). And in the end, it's all good!
