If you are on a budget, you might have to pass up the 350 and go to a 305 or and older 283 or 327. Later on you can go 350, build a stroker or even build the one you threw in. There are some good deals out there if you do some leg work and find the right good old boy.

Hell boy I have a 283 for sale like Diarmadhim said 75$ I am on Ft. Lewis. If you are interested check out my post called Hellacious deal it has the info on it. Diarmadhim if you can arrange for someone to get it for you you can have it bro.
Help a brother out here guys...... I mean I am losing money on it I bought it for 100 and I got a water pump for it off ebay but Chevyluvguy screwed me and took it, but I just got another water pump for it a few weeks ago off of ebay. I am also throwing in the rolling engine stand with it was 30$ for it. Well I gotta run.
Later

I have a Chevy 283 and turbo 350 tranny sitting here in my way. The engine should be gone through, but it was running when I pulled it out of another truck. It makes a ticking sound and might be a main bearing. Not sure as I never dropped the oil pan to check. The tranny is good and has a B&M shift kit in it. The tail end need to be replaced as I dropped an engine block on it (found out I ain't as strong as I used to be) and broke the section where the rear seal fits. If you want it, the price is right, just come to Las Vegas and pick it up any time! If you don't want it and there is someone else out there who does and is close by, same price.
