i just scored a 82 isuzu p'up. I'm picking it up in the morning and bringing it home to strip.

what should i keep?.........i need brakes and front end parts... are they interchangable? I'd like to use the bigger radiator and the manifolds if they'd work.(are the manifolds slightly bigger?)

i was also wondering if swaping my motor and body onto the frame of the 82 was a possibility. i'd like to use the pup rearend w/ it's tranny and keep the carrier bearing since i haul a lot of weight sometimes.

I'm probably going to have an electronic ignition to e-bay this week along with some mechanical parts off my 2wd that i'll be upgrading. if anybody needs anything specific send me a pm.

One thing that isn't a direct swap are the front brakes. The discs/calipers on the 81-82 are bigger than the 76-80. Not sure about the other stuff, I've got pretty much zero experience with the later models....

good score btw and good luck!

the front suspension deal i was thinking about involved the suspension geomotry up front... i dont plan on doing a direct swap of the brakes....i want to replace the front end since the power steering unit is nice and tight on the donor. i know that the disks are bigger...

it gives me more of an incentive to just drop my motor and body onto the pup frame and drivetrain. that is the main question on this thread..................would it fit?

If not..... would the ball joints and tierods swap? my front end is sloppy as..... well we don't have 20 hookers anymore(damn inflation) it's sloppy and the new parts are a little spendy for me.

since the whole truck is running me $200 bucks i don't think this is a bad deal........the rebuild kit for my 5 spd is $326....

funny though....after looking for a elect dist for my truck for over a year i got slamed with all these vehicles. i really need to get rid of my 81 4wd parts vehicle and after i get the pup today i'll be able to put the 81 back into running shape.

Been trying to find out about this, it should is the best I can do. But again this isn't coming from personal experience....
Didn't the 82's have power steering?
