I am finally working on my LUV again. The bad news is my wife has given it to my daughter and I need to have it finished by January 2005 when she return to the states from her tour in Japan. I had to change several things from what I wanted to what she wants. One thing is I was going to put a 5 speed manual in it and now have to go with the TH700R4 I had lying around. No problem there except for the fact I have already fit a radiator that has NO transmission cooling capability. The question is, can I just use an auxilliary cooler which sits in front of the radiator and will it work sufficiently to handle the tranny by itself? I plan to install an air dam up front and would even go with two smaller ones with their own fans to prevent blocking the radiator. I think this set up would have a nice appearance as long as they or it can handle a tranny alone. Please let me know as I plan to purchase a butt load of parts this weekend. Thanks...

the reason some tranny's have a integrated cooler in the radiator is that they need to warm up quicker. if it's cold outside in the winter the tranny will slip till it warms up. i couldn't do that here cause it snows. that would blow a set of bands in two years tops. if you have room to put it between the fan and the radiator it would help.

have you taught your daughter to warm up her vehicle every morning _without_ fail_?

What we have taught her and what she does are two different things. I don't think the starter stops spinning yet and she is hauling ass down the road!!!

First, you guys need help!  Second thanks for the help and I assume it isn't the size of a full size radiator?

no, it's just a little guy. about 12"x8", I'd have to measure to be sure though.
