Well since its a big block...you got some work ahead of you. Most guys opt to put a Small Block in. Because the size and fit is just perfect basically. There has been a few guys go the big block route, but most like the more simpler version of a small block swap.

Biggest thing is you might have to cut the inner fenders some, steering column shaft will probably have to be relocated, and basically firewalll modifications. You are also gonna have to make engine mounts and mount a new radiator, etc. Those are the basics, and if i didn't scare you off from doing it....Good luck!

A Buddy of mine back in hi-school put a sb 400 in his 73. He had an old Catalina and a Luv with a dead, stock motor. The other mods he made were mounting the radiator forward of the support. Also he drilled holes in to the fenderwells to access the plugs. He kept the stock axle and he never had a problem. It was stolen from him around 1980. He's in jail now but i know he thinks about that truck.

that would be cool. i have a old pontiac bonneville up in the country with a 455 pontiac and auto trans. been sitting for along time, but was driven and ran good when set up. i went up there a while back and the motor would turn over and the oil looked good so i bet it would run. i've thought about putting it into a luv but don't know if i wanna cut the firewall.
