I recently blew out a rod in my 1980 luv and I'm looking to replace it with a v6 or v8 (was going to replace the engine anyway but now its a little more important) I would like a drop in motor and transmission. if I can get it to be a 1-1 drop in that would be great I just don't want to have to fabricate my own adapters. If adapters already exists that would work.

It’s not exactly a 1:1 swap but powerbyace.com makes swap components for the 4.3 v6 and small block Chevy v8s.

One very important question for you - is it a 2WD or a 4X4?

Because if it's a 4X4 you're pretty much screwed. The only 1:1 bolt ins are another 1.8L out of a Luv, a G200 1.9L out of a Pup, or you're changing out the transmission and transfer case along with the engine to a 5 speed 2.3L out of an early Trooper.

If it's a 2WD, you've got a bunch more options. But none of them are a 1:1 bolt in.

It is a 2WD and I'm not so much worried about it being 1:1 I just dont have the equipment to fabricate but I will look in to http://www.powerbyace.com
