Hmm... honestly the first question that comes to mind is why an inline 6? I really don't see any advantage in it unless you're getting one free or have one lying around anyway. The inline 6's that I've dealt with are pretty long and slightly awkward. Given the limited space to play with in the engine bay and considering most people usually have to knock the firewall in a couple inches to get a V engine in there, I would stay away from the inline.

Then again, I have yet to do an engine swap on the LUV so I may be wrong. Just my 2 cents...

I had a full size chevy with a straight six and swaped a v8. The six was slightly longer. There are some performance parts for the six but buck for buck, if possible, go v8.

Depends on the make of the six, also. I know at least with a Chevy six you have a height issue as well.

I was thinking of putting one in from A datsun Z car the oil pan looks like it will clear the front axle and the FI wireing looks simple I think they produce 175HP stock and can be easily turbo charged. But just A thought nothing in the works YET I need to do more looking around.

I'm not sure but I think some of the motor would end up beside you in the cab. LUV's have pretty small engine compartments and have you ever looked at how long a Z hood is??? Sounds trick if you can pull it off but I bet it will be way to much work.

I agree with tilted. The 6 out of a z is pretty long and would pose more problems then it would be worth.
