What is the difference between the four types of Weber 32 36's...?
(answers his own question)
There are four models;
Water choke DGAV.
Manuel choke DGV.
Electric choke CCW linkage DFEV.
Electric choke CW linkage DGEV.

I guess my real question is which applies to what? Which fits best on the Offy intake? What's needed to mount one of these on a stock manifold?

I have a '76 stock 1.8.

The DGEV is the most direct swap for a truck with an automatic choke, the link for the kit is below. There are lots of good tips in the archives of this site, you just have to dig through the old posts.

Thank you for the clarification. Where did you find the adapter plate or did you fab one yourself?

What makes the weber not CA legal? The hot air from the ex. mani? I think I have read a few ppl have modified the stock air cleaner to mount up to the weber to "hide" it. I need a new carb and all sources say weber swap...

weber is an improvement over the stock carb and much more reliable.
i think it is only non ca legal because its marketed as an off-road performance carb.. you could probably get away with it. these little motors cant be bad for smog

Got my 32/36 today, have a couple questions...

I'm assumeing the fuel inlet can be switched side to side, depending where your fuel line is coming from, just dbl checking here don't want to throw anything out of spec. Image

There is 1 "capped" port(instructions say for EGR if used) just left of the Dizzy Vac port underneath the elect. choke.Image There is also another "capped" port above the idle set screw, but instructions don't mention it's functionality(if it has one).Image

Is plugging the EGR holes inside the mani nessecary? I need to keep it smog legal(atleast every 2yrs, either put old carb on and hope or try to hide the weber). Has anyone hooked up a 32/36 with all the emission system in tact?

I see a spot for an Idle Cot Off solinoid, just left of the elect. chokeImage
and another capped port on the other side of the carb, slightly smaller.
Image

Is there a coasting valve solinoid option for the 32/36? And or is it nessecary for a smog test?

i made a plate i bolted over the egr port on the intake manifold so i wouldnt have a massive vaccuum leak.
the ports i didnt need to use i just popped some vacuum plugs on

for my fuel i run the intake in one side of the carb (the other side from wha u r using) and i run the fuel return line form the other side at an upward angle so my fuel cant just go in one end and out the other. i will get a pic later if i can

I was thinking the same thing. Using a smaller nipple to restrict the flow back into the return line. Are you using a pressure regulator with this set up?

i got a 90 degree fitting and put it in rotated partly upward to get the return line at a higher level than the intake and have run it that way with no problems ever since i got it.

nope thats why i kept the return hooked up

i think they recommend 2.5psi without a return line if you want to run a regulator instead.. its in the papers/website somewhere

I would rather hook up the return line than install a regulator. Post a pic when you get a chance,

alright finally got out to get a couple pics
feed comes in on the left side of the pic. return at a slightly upward angle on the right.. i used the original lines from the truck and moved them around. its a close reach but they made it.

Looks good, did you use and thread tape or thread sealer on that fitting or did it snug up at that angle? The fittings I got have the tapper on them, so I don't want to over tighten it and crack the aluminiun..., Would some Teflon/thread tape be ok to use on this fitting?
