Not sure what ^^ is, but a 4.3 should be a fairly straight swap. And the stock rear should hold at that power level, or you can use the s10 rear...

ya sorry guys i did mean a 4.3 vortec and 700r4 tranny. and thanks for the link. as for the s10 rear... the guy i bought the engine and tranny from was pulling it because he is using the rolling chassis for a 31 coupe rat rod project for his 16 year old son. he paid 1400 for the truck it has 116,000 miles on it but just had the engine rebuilt with 2k worth of new parts last year. has all the receipts to show for everything from the previous owner. but the man now has Parkinson's and can not drive so this fellow is his neighbor and bought it to help him out.

Are you planning on using any of the above mentioned items??? None of that stuff will be straightforward except maybe the tranny lines.

true, but that radiator is going to come in really handy if your willing to take the time to get it to fit the stock one is just pathetically small for a 4.3
let me know how that power steering works out if you plan on using it that would be a good writeup subject

hey guys sorry i have been swamped at work lately and really havent had a chance to do much besides starting to pull the ac stuff off and set it aside and from what im wanting to do i dont think i will be using the ac. i was going to look into using the power steering though and see if a s-10 gearbox would work. im at a stage right now that im conflicted over whether to use the tbi or to go carbed. carbed would be alot easier to work on for me as im use to carbs and never worked on a tbi.

today i get to clean my garage so i have room to start spreading parts all over the place and make my wife unhappy. but tomorrow is my wifes birthday party so i wont have much time to work on it until next weekend. ill try to get pics of everything either tomorrow or sometime this week if i have time. thanks for the interest guys! i luv this site
