 Post subject: 1.8L hop up
PostPosted: Sun Sep 14, 2003 8:22 pm
Hello all,
I am a new member to the site.
I just picked up a 1976 Luv machine. I am going to put 500 ponies to it. I thought I would be the only one crazy enough to do it, Than I found you guys.
My question is: When I pull the 1.8 and standard trans I want to hop it up a little, you see I am into garden tractor pulling and this 1.8 would make a nice addition to my fleet. Does anyone know where I can find any performance parts for it? I am new to this model engine, as the only Isuzu engines I have touched were in forklifts. Any info will be greatly appreciated. :D

well about all i know you can do to that modle motor is a carb. If it has the intake and exaust on oposite sides then you can get a header and intake too. The offenhouser intakes are vary hard to find and the header that im running and vary happy whith is the pace setter.

you can get a header for it out of the flowmaster catalog, then just run bigger pipe (like 3") and then get a flowmaster series 40 or series 50 muffler. my dad put a series 50 muffler on his car and it added about 17-20 horsepower.

I will only be running an open header, I will build that myself. I need internal mods, as I will be running CAM2.
