Hey guys,

I was looking through the KSL parts ads and i found an 80 4wd with a buick 3.8 v6 in it. from what i understand, the previous owner did the install and used the front half of the buick bell housing and used the rear half of the stock bell housing and welded them together using a steel plate.

i was under the impression that the stock luv 4spd trans was made of aluminum.

i still want to do the same swap when i get an engine, but i want to know more about doing this.

Or does anyone know if there is a way to make a custom bell housing? what would i need?

are you ditching the buick V6?

if you are swapping to the 2.8 60* V6 then I know that CTMANDU has a conversion bellhousing available already!

I found the best years to come from 87/88 H.O. S10.... it came with big valve, small chamber heads and a heavy duty rolled fillet crank. genereally what i think is best for swapping. Unless you can get the top end off of a fiero 2.8, then you only need the HD S10 shortblock.

wish you were closer... I got a 2.8 with a 700R4 and Tcase for sale.
