I have a TH400 that I was going to put in my luv, but I was thinking that a 5 speed would be fun. Is it a bigger pain in the ass to run the manual? Should I just stick with the TH400? Also, if anyone has a good 5-speed out a Z28 or something, I would be willing to trade my TH400.

Id go with the five speed theres nothing like smashin' gears. If you're gonna race it the five speed will hold up to more power than the th400.

Ther is no way a Z-28 5 speed is stronger than a turbo 400.

the T5 5speed is junk. I broke 3 of them in two years in a mildly modified Z28.

TH400 is the way to go if you dont mind no overdrive. If you absolutely have to wack gears then try to dig up a Muncie M22 "Rock Crusher" or a BW super T-10. if you have a lot of $$$ then get a Richmond 5speed.
