so what I found is that it the "Models from 1988-1991 are equipped Isuzu 12-bolt live rear axles with 4-wheel disc brakes. 1981-1991 Isuzu Trooper is 4.555:1, or 4.77:1. so this is not what I wnat. but will the rear disc brakes calipers work on the luv 2wd diffs?

1 GEN troopers 84 to 91 mostly have 4.55s
84 is the oldest trooper year

odd balls are as fallows.......

1987 diesel troopers have 4.11s theres only 200~ of them, this should be a 10bolt sence 88 was the first 12bolt year,

1989 there was a RS trooper, commen out side the USA in all years, but rare hear, they have 4.77 gears and mabe a LSD its a extra short 2 door trooper
also from 88 to 91 any trooper with the over sized tire pakege should have 4.77s as well as a very small chance of a LSD

there is a combo of parts that can change a 88/91 12 bolt rear end to a 4.11s
but you need the 4.11 gears from a 88/95 4x4 or 4x2 2.6L auto trans isuzu truck.
having the auto trans makes serten its 4.11s not, 4.30, 4.55, 4.77 gears
from 88 to 95 all 2.3L powerd trucks are 4x2 and have a 10 bolt. so thats why it must be from a 2.6L truck.
buy doing this
you have all origanl parts in a combo that was never sold as one rear end off the lot :P

theres no way to put 3.73/3.42s in a 12 bolt, short of having $$custom$$ gears made.

as far as the rear disc brakes calipers working on 4x2 luv diffs im gessing as well as going with my gut, NO but thats a gess

I suppose you could get the gears or third memeber out of a TF pickup and put that in the Trooper housing.

Good ratio and rear disc brakes.

Im not a fan of the disc setup they had. They have a roatating/lever piston type e-brake setup and they stuff up. Plus they are not as good an e-brake as the drums. The later rear disc was better, it had a drum inside the disc.

Cheers, Bob.

Get the calipers, mount bracket and rotors and any other parts that are attached and i bet they can be made to fit.
This is what i am going to do as soon as the paper work gets done on a 88-89 that is at the wrecking yard as i want the 2.6 and trans as well.

I could be wrong, but i think that the flange pattern on the end of the axle tube is different.

Measure the distance between the bolts on your Luv before you pull it off the Trooper.

Even if the flange size is different it would still be a good template to build one to fit or modify to fit.
