Certain things I have read conflict each other. First off...how hard is it really to fab up the frame pads instead of buying the kit? Some things said I need a Monza bellhousing for manual transmission...others don't mention it. I'm installing a 350 Vortec with a LT4 hotcam, carburated with a 750 holley and a 5 speed camaro tranny. It's a 80 LUV 2WD. Do I need a Monza bellhousing or not? I would really like to do it this way because I got 2 5 speed camaro trannies a driveline and a rear end for a 350 vortec hd longblock (I get them for 100 bucks) and got another 350 vortec for one hundred bucks. So can it be done with the stock bellhousing from the tranny or what?

A Monza bell housing uses a cable is th reason people used them. Others can be used but might require a little more work in the fabrication department. Mounts are something I usually make a factory one fit. On my truck I went to the local parts store and bought mid 70's Chevrolet car mounts and then built frame brackets for them. I have never seen one of the kits and I am not sure if they used a standard mount or not but I wanted to be able to get replacement mounts years down the road if needed. I think is is a good idea to make book with part numbers or what year parts you use in different areas so latter you can get replacement without too much headache. I have used so many different things if I was to ever sell mine some guy at a parts store someday would be calling somebody names.
