I have several spare radiators from C/10,20 fullsize trucks. I also have one from some fullsize chevy car (not sure what). The one from the car is about 3.5" thick and pretty wide, but not too tall. I was thinking about mounting it on the outside of the radiator support. Has anyone ran a radiator like this from a bigger car. Is it a big pain in the ass, would it be less of a headache to go aluminum? I am on a budget, so if I could make this work, that would help, I've already got about $1000 just in my motor alone, so I am going broke quick :P Thanks
Daniel

sell those big ones and use the money to get a 19x22 aluminum. aluminum radiators are cheap these days. and yes mounting a big radiator in front is too much work for a crappy looking final product.

Yeah, thats what I figured. Whats a good price for an aluminum? I have never really priced any before. Thanks. I hope to have my truck done soon. I still need to buy a set of headers, and have a driveline made. Budget and lack of time is forcing me to run the stock rear end for awhile. I've heard it will hold up until I get on it. I also need to buy a 3000+ stall converter before I fire it up. Thanks for the help

Here's a link to a good Aluminum that's as cost effective as your gonna find. Go to the projects gallery and look into Colin's Pics. You'll find a good photo of it installed.

19x22 alum radiator should be $150-200. that site above is the cheapest i have ever seen it. If you are on a budget, I would recommend a set of Hooker block hugger headers. they are good up to 400hp at least. I actually ran a set on a 600hp small block until i could get new ones and it worked fine.

Get a convertor from Darryl Young. All of their stuff is made by Continental converters which in my opinion makes the best product. Darryl Young has a better price than Continental though. I think a good efficient and reliable converter is one of the most important parts of a buildup.

My stock rear end held up fine behind a 350hp 327 with a hard shifting TH350. it was actually working fine when I pulled it out and sold it to some guy for $40!!!! If you add a shift kit and any kind of traction, its days are numbered though.
