i used to see 2 identical LUVs cruising around San D. along time ago and both of them had toyota front ends. I have done a jeep front end on a datsun v-8 4x4 conversion. its pretty damn easy. u will need the leaf springs and shackles, shackle mounts and rear leaf mounts. just remove all of your stock IFS and weld the shackles mounts and rear leaf spring mounts (this is a good time to revers this and put the shackles in the back) and then bolt it all up.

the beauty of a toyota front end is in the simplicity. you have a solid axle, tierods, and 2 leaf springs. no ifs junk at all.

if you want to get better steering gear, you might want to consider dumping some money in allpro's hi-steer crossover kit. it's supposedly superior to the stock solid axle toyota steering

the toyota solid axle will be easy to swap in, no shortening. Its just a matter of getting the springs hung right. Howver if you looking to do a 350 swap and off road it you might be alot better off getting a Dana44 and an AAM 12bolt, and shorten em. Though the toy axles have enough splines to hold a 350 for a while anyway.
