What, if at all possible, is need to swap in a 22r. I plan on doing a toyota sas later on and i though itd be spiffy to have the entire drivetrain. I would like to know what is involved in putting the 22r into the Luv.

i saw one at a wrecking yard a couple years ago and it looked like just motor and trany mount mods with shortened drive shaft... the shifter sat back about 4 to 6 inches though

hey if thatd be put the shifter almost right by the seat thatd be pretty comfortable to me..i aint that tall lol.

If you're planning on doing that large of a swap, i'd consider a different engine. The 22R's are fairly gutless, especially if you're doing a SAS and planning on running 33's or 35's or more. Chevy 4.3's and 350's can be picked up for around 400 bucks. I'd go that route if I were you.
