Hi, I have the 1977 luv truck and I wanted to put a V8 in it. However, the CA smog laws only exempt cars 1975 and older. Does anyone know if this is going to change anytime soon? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

There are some new laws coming down the pipe but don't hold your breath, it will several years, kinda like a light year for the State of Calif. We have not seen the laws as of yet but rumor is it will bump up the year, but that is rumor.

I don't see the law changing. They passed a law to stop it at 1975. However I do know that you can put in the same year V8 or newer. As for as the technical side of how it passes smog, I can't help you wiht that.
