Every one knows about the little relays on the passenger side of the engien compartment but most everyone has no idea what they do right? well i had a thought since the black wire with a blue stripe come frome one relay, and the otehr one is for the fuel pump, if one were to upgrade to the electronic ignition they wouldnt need the black/;blue wire right? and thats about the only active wire on the one relay, and if a guy were to run the fuel pump wiring to a source thats on when the key is in the on position or just outright bypass the relay, would you even need them anymore?... the only reason i ask is after i get my weber to work right there is only goign to be 3 impoirtant wires running from my engine, then the 2 otehrs for the weter temp and oil pressure sending unit... one fat gague from my one wire setup, posative (+) from the coil to the posative side of the distributor, and the negative(-) side of the coil to the negative(-) wire on the distributor... does anyone see any problems with this setup?

one more thing, the reason for all of this is that i plan to eventually com[pletely rewire my entire truck and do away with the stock setup since it gives me a huge headache... and i dont like the color scheme  ... if anyone has any input plese give the advice, i know most people hate wiring and if they were to rip a harness apart they would probably turn arnoud and run away crying... its not for the faint of heart... but anyway please any advice is welcome...

I modified the stock harness. I did away with the ignition by pass relay. I run 2 relays, 1 for the fuel pump and the other for the elec fan, both are signeled by toggle switches.
