Does any body know how far back the shifter for a manual transmission for a V-8 would be from the stock shifter hole.I have a bench seat and I want to keep the stock interior and I dont think it will clear. :?

Can anyone help me,this is delaying my swap.Does anybody have a car or truck with V-8 and a 4-speed?If so,could anybody get some measurements. :)

Hey Dan, I have a 74 w/ 4x4 cxonversion,350 & a 4 speed. the trans is a saginaw top loader & the shifter comes out under the heater box (I had to make a new htr. box. With a linkage type trans.(muncie etc. ) maybe you could shorten the shift linkage if it is too far back. good luck
