hey, i dont know anything about luvs, i wanted to know if a 4 speed tranny out of a luv could be pulled out and put into a 71 nova with a 350ci. or will i need a different tranny?

I would not run the stock trans with a v-8. Even if you build an adapter (you probably would cause the bell housing is different) I doubt the stock luv trans would hold up for very long.
