I have been thinking about putting a streetbike engine in my LUV, but not exactly sure how I would hook up a tranny. Or if I used the stock chain drive with an independent rear, how I would get reverse...
Well while looking around on the internet I found this...

http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2005/02/09/hayabusa-v8-engine/

I want it! They can get a single one of those engines (not the V8 version) to 350HP reliably with a turbo, so could you imagine the V8 with a turbo, or even 2!

Yeah, most of the companies I saw were in the UK... I think that V8 is even from the UK

I run a 2002 gsxr 1000 street bike motor in my race car,it puts out 160hp,and hits the rev limiter @ 12,400 rpm.You can buy one complete for under $1500.00

What do you do for a transmission? Or what do you use to drive the car (chain, drive line, etc). Also do you have a reverse?

Dwarf cars do not have reverse. We run the stock trans in the motors, the motors are installed side ways and we use a coupler made by Hawk that installs where the stock sprocket goes and couples it to a U-joint. Then from there to a drive shaft to a modified Toyota 8 or 10 bolt diff. Dwarf cars are limited to 1250 cc's in stock form. So a Hayabusa motor can not be ran due to it being over 1250 in its stock form. But you can take a GSXR or a BlackBird motor and build it up to a 1250 cc motor.

Well that kind of solves the driveline problem... but this would be on a street truck, so I would need reverse... No idea how to do that... lol

Maybe by the time I would actually get around to doing it I will have figured it out

Some in the UK use an electric motor that engages the drive shaft to go in reverse

Cool topic, I'd been researching this along the lines of using a ATV shaft driven powersource. Time to rethink this...

you could run a small tranny(like a toyota car) inline, just have to make a adapter for the driveshaft to go to the input shaft.regular driveline on the back side.A long time ago some dwarfs where set up that way( in the northwest)

Also look at Legend Cars and Desert Karts. For some reason I've gotten the motorcycle powered car bug. Most of my ideas have already been done. I guess that's good.
