Did you ever figure it out Blove22? I swear, i am in carb hell right now. I have two carbs, one a fairly new remain Hitachi that came with the truck and the other is a Weber. My Weber is awesome except for the fact that it wants to keep running when i shut off the key........... Is there anywhere that sells the idle stop solenoid for the weber? It seems to be tuned well, I just dont know where to go next.

My Hitachi carb had that prob, turns out it was the fast idle compensator for the A/C... even though I was not yet running AC, the little plunger that advances the throttle would hold the rpms up just abit right before I shut down. Had to stick the toe of my shoe under the pedal and pull forward then shut down to keep from deiseling. later installed a return spring on the pedal arm.

Havent had that issue with the weber

I know which one you are talking about, I thought that was the fast idle screw? Which way fixed the dieseling, CCW or CW?

ccw, unscrew it alittle till you fill comfortable with it. if this doesnt foix it, loosen the screw to you dist. and turn it clockwise just a hair. mark the normal position before you turn it for a reference point. youll just have to play with both of these things, thats what i did and it fixed my problem.

Well, I think that the problem has been nullified. The screw in question is the fast idle screw i believe. I adjusted that to get my fast idle to 2k to 2.5k when it is first started up. How i believe i fixed the dieseling is I fabricated a bracket like Ctmandu and used the old throttle assy plus the spring that returns the throttle to idle when you let go of the gas. I think that that was my problem all along, the post by 79-LUV'r about the A/C thing got me thinking about it, and sure enough, it seemed to fix the issue.
