Do you guys know what the measurements are for the stock rear in a 75 chevy luv. or somwhere where I can see them. Drum to drum flange to flange, perch to perch.

they say s-10 rear end pretty much drops right in

it is a drop in . Did the S10 swap about 2 weeks ago and it fits really nice. I used a 2000 S10 v6 rearend

hey bama....does the 2000 rearend have better gearing than the recomended '82-92 rearends?

I think mine was 52 " I run 4 "or 4.25 " backspace . If i did it again I would change it to fit the more popular 4.5 or 5.5 back space and would run Chevy car bolt pattern .

I used a 2000 V6 rear end because it is a 28 spline with a 3.42 open diff. Where the earlier are 26 spline and usually a numerically higher rear gear (4.10 , etc). I got my rear end out of a junkyard for 100.00 and got Mooser axles for 235.00 a set.( I ordered a set of 2000 S10 axles with the luv bolt pattern 6 X 5.5)

But here are the codes for S10 rears. They are listed in the glove box.
rear axle ratio RPO

GU4=3.08
GU5=3.23
GU6=3.42
GT4=3.73
GT5=4.10
HC4=4.56

G80 - locking differential

but my understanding is that a 2nd gen V6/Auto will have a 3.42 gear but I would verify by the RPO code in the glove box.

the measurement from backing plate to backing plate is 48 and 52 outside drum to drum.
hotrod i have the 4.5 bs prostar 8" rim and with a 29.5/10.5 tire i have to use 1/4 inch spacers, now i have the hoosiers 29/9.0 and i don't need the spacers but i lost alot of traction on the 9' tire.
