Alrighty there are 2 things that make my GEN light glow. They are the heater motor and the turn signals, but not the 4ways. So what wiring do these two things share? At this point im thinking its a short or a ground. The light will only come one whith one of these 2 things but running other stuff at the same time does make it worse...

i had a similar problem with mine but it also did it with the shifter in reverse.. i ended up unhooking the fan switch since there is no off position and then the light would stay off. I still can't leave the shifter in reverse of the blinker on or my battery will drain overnight.

When you have some time, pull all 4 turn signal light bulbs out. Fire the truck up and see if Gen warning lite comes on. If it does put the bulbs back in one at a time and see if the warning lite comes on after any one of the 4 is put back in.

Yep! I'm thinking possibly one of the light sockets. Corrosion can cause a high resistance short. Especially the back, where the wheels throw mud, snow, water up there. Did you check the heater fan? Just unplug the wiring to it up under the dash. If the gen lite goes out, it's the culprit.

Check my post above. I changed doesn't to does. Dumb me, DUH! Thats what happens when you type faster than you think.

yes im not running it right now becouse when i unplugged it the gen light whent out. As far as the turn signals my fronts are HD trailer lights i swapped in when i built my first bumper. could it be they are to blame?
