You could either get it from a Junk yard,

or heres a site you can buy a new aftermarket tank:

What is wrong with the tank you have? If it is just filled with crud you could have it boiled out and sealed. A lot of radiator shops will do it for you, probably for less than the cost of a new tank.

I just swapped tanks on my 77 LUV, the old one had a crack I was tired of patching every couple of years, and I needed to track down a leaking hose that was allowing water in. The replacement I used was full of sludge and varnish and I just took it to the car wash and blasted the crud out of it. A few hours of time in front of a heater got all the water out that wouldn't drain out the sender unit hole. You can also get quite a bit with some paper towels and a stick.

Now if I'm really bold I'll weld up the crack in the tank I took out with the torch.

Ah, that will do it and not much you can do to fix it at that point.

I've never had to deal with that degree of rustage. I think the crack in the 77's tank was the worst (less than an inch long) and I had a rock get between the skid plate and tank on my 4x4 and put a tiny crack in it. Both of them were solved with fuel tank repair epoxy, at least for the short term.
