Ok so i start my truck it diels for a while and then starts sputtering and backfiring and will stall out if i dont keep the rpms up. This only seems to happen when its realy humid (wich is all the time in this hell hole...). I have a weber 32/36 which was just rebuilt and an 82 electronic ignition. new cap rotor plugs and wires...

Sounds like, as soon as it warms up, its suckin air from a gasket that is getting warm and then letting air in.

I like LUVNIT's theory. Easy enough to check for IM and carb gasket leaks.

Could also be the choke on the weber, you have electric or manual? If its electric it might not be pulling off fast enough, too fast, or not at all. Pop the air filter off with it cold, start it up and wait for it to start to sputter. See if the choke has started to open up or not. Then try pulling it off a little or close it down some by hand and see what it does. You might also check for voltage on the choke wire, hot with the motor running should be good. My Weber has similar issues, idles sort of dead cold and then like crap for a while until fully warmed up. If I were driving that truck right now I'd have my Hitachi on at least for the cold season.

the choke is working, its closed before i start it and when its warm its open. I never had this problem even in Spokane winters whith the temps regularly in the single digits. I was starting to think of investigating my intake gasket.

My Weber with electric choke does the same sputtering on cold start when its cold, and I have to keep the RPMs up for less than two minutes. Yesterday morning it was 0 degrees when I fired the LUV up and went to town. BUT, I've got the original breather on and preheat off the exhaust is still manifold connected.
