Has anyone run across some of the lower gears in the LUV's? My parts book states they had 3.73 and 3.42 gears available in the 80/81 years, has anyone come accross a set and know if they will swap into the earlier rears? Im looking for something to make my 76 a bit more quiet on the freeway, and maybe get a few more miles per gallon.. thanks

they also had 4.11's in the automatics, i'd like to get the 3.4 out of the 4spd to help my truck a little, but I need some more HP before I stick in something like that.

i have a factory service manual for my 80 and it says there were 2 gear set for that year. 4.10s (the only gear for the 4x4s) and 3.73s which i guess was in the 2wds. I would think the autos would get the 4.10s.
