Well I got all the parts for my 76 yesterday. All new hoses (minus a few heater hoses) belts, plugs, cap, rotor, points, wires, carb kit, fuel/air filters, front brake pads, head gasket kit, new float, thermostat, six feet of vacuum line and all of it was less than $180 bucks! All from napa. The machine shop bill was $60 bucks so im under my budget still. Now I just have to put it all back together, and hope she passes smog when im all done! Fun fun! It had a blown head gasket, looks like they went through the head, then just ran water in the motor so it really rotted the head gasket and rusted a couple bolts in the intake manifold. Should be good as new when im done with it, as this will be my daily driver!

Hey DJ, soounds like the plan is going to work! Did you have Franklin do the machine work? I'm about an hour away from you and was going to have them do some machine work for me in the future.

No, they were too $$$ for me lol Scott over at foreign engine (241-1257) is the man when it comes to import work up here. Otherwise if your doing a V8 or race motor I have to plug my sponsors: International Engines in Anderson, talk to Ralph (378-6050) tell him Derek sent you..

Thanks for the hot tips, Derek! I'm hoping I won't need any 'foreign' engine machine work done for a LONG time, but I've got some other American iron that's at the top of my 'Projects' list. I'll check all those guys out.
