Just agreed to do something I told my wife I would never ever do.

I bought a 1981 Chevy 4X4. Absolutely fantastic condition. (I mean this one is a sander and painter and she is set)

But she needs a set of brakes all the way around. I can think Rotors, Drums, Pads, and Shoes, but can't go further than that for some reason.

Anyone got good part numbers to hit the local shops to cross reference? I go down there and they give me the part number, but what they order is the wrong crap.

Please assist me. My 76 is running find tho. No problems ordering parts for that.

Well, if you look on parts america.com they have most of what you need for your truck, but, if you go to advance auto afterwards to pick up what you saw on the internet you can't, PA can sell advance stuff and there stuff but not vise-versa. Just a tip, happend to me the other day.

I have a part no. for some vented disk's that were on PA but you wont find in a search, I'll try finding it since they're only 25 bucks a pop.

I got my brake pads from autozone. No. D194 . They had them in stock at the winston one I went to, not sure about anything near you.

Now for drums, Raybestos 9339DGS , they're about 16 lbs each and the others are bout 11, thicker walls on the drums?

And rear shoes, nikes would do ok.... oh wait... Duralast 510 shoes.

I like using http://www.rockauto.com for parts lookup and comparisons. You can get a bunch of part numbers there and take them to the local shop and see what they can get.

Hey 800XL. I hit Rock Auto before running down around the corner to the local store, and the numbers I gave them never even cross referenced.

I thought that Odd. So I hit the Napa, and of course like everything here, they close at 3 PM to hit the Sat Night Racing Spotlight. So I have to hit them Monday.
