let me start out by saying i'm an idiot & eletrical systems scare the uy3jwrnl[SWfnf out of me. so i decide i'm going to face my fear and rebuild my 1980 mikado 4x4 main harness (smart don't ya think) i'm getting ready to take the luv from california to missouri and didn't have the use of my water temp or oil press gauge/light. i got all the main stuff connected right(not feeling 100% sure on that) and wanted to see if it would turn over so i proceeded to in my hurry connect the battery backwards and the positive 12ga wire coming off the batt started to fry along with the black and white stripe going to the starter, no blown fuse. i reconected it the right way and its dead as a door nail. everything off the motor was pluged in or connected before my bassackwards battery hook up, under the dash allot was unpluged. i check some off the wirers for continuity and so far so goods. at this point i'm so stressed out i cant come up with a clue, PLEASE HELP IF AT ALL POSSIBLE is there a way to bypass all the bull electrical (no smog check in MO.) let me know.

THANKS IN ADVANCE GUYS.

I am thinking of taking an old wire hirness of a Luv in a wrecking yard
then making a new harness and use all the plugs off the old one.
Though its a bit time consuming, and some people might suggest buying
a generic wireness to use.
Evntually I'm going to use differnt guages and put in a oil pressure
and amp guage too.

yeah, check for a fusable link somewhere between your bat and the starter, fuse box. You might just have to replace that section of wire.

while I have never done that I know a couple of people that have and completely toasted thier entire wiring harness. Lets all cross our fingers that your entire harness isn't toasted.
