My manual is useless with this procedure. How do I get to the speedo light? I would love to know how fast I'm going at night.

Reach in from under the dash to get at the bulbs. They are in black plastic carriers that stick out from the back of the gauge cluster. For an easy way to find one and figure out what they look like, go for one of the turn signal bulbs. They are located directly behind the turn signal indicator as viewed from the driver's seat, so you have a landmark to line your hand up behind. The black bulb carriers turn and lock into place. Turn clockwise to lock, countclockwise to unlock, I believe. Once unlocked the carrier comes out, and you can look at the bulb. The bulbs just pull out of the carrier to replace them. It helps to pull each bulb with the dash lights on, then you know you have the one or ones that are not working. Sometimes the bulb just works loose in the carrier and you can get them working again without replacement, but at the age these trucks are at bulbs do just fail.

It is very hard to describe, this really is one of those things you need to dive into to figure out. I hope my description helps, and if I get the chance I'll try to take a picture of one of the bulb carriers. I'd photo the whole back of the gauge cluster, but I don't have one out that is available to me at the moment.
