I would appreciate you guys telling me what kind of shackles I would need for the torsion lift on my 81 4X4 and where I might be able to find them. Thanks

For the front you don't need anything except an impact wrench and a socket to fit the torsion bar adjuster bolts. For the rear, I would say look on JCWhitney's site. I think that's where I saw some.

Good luck,
Jon

i lifted my front end with torsion bars 3 1/2 in and if i went any higher i would have had the stiffest suspension ever so i don't recomend going over that. you could go and lift your truck 2 inches with shackles and torsion bars then get a body lift i had a website that sold 2 in and 3 n so i will try and find it and tell you but that might be the best thing to do

I found some shackles on calmini's website but they were 50 bucks. Most of the guys here got their's for about 20. Where should I look for some cheaper shackles. Thanks for all the info guys.

Well for my 2" lift all i did is extend the stock shackles to 5" long. I torched em in half then mig welded a piece of 2" plate on either side. I wouldnt recomend this unless your a vary good wleder. Ow and doing it this way cost me about $2.50
