i've always had a problem with oil leaks......i had my pan re-pinged flat, valve cover re-shaped, all of a sudden the oil cap is blowing off.

i have a good bit of pressure in the crankcase, but it has gotten worse over the last few days. i've installed a large pcv system and it's still not enough.

here's why i can't figure this out on my own.......I'M NOT BURNING OIL....
the only thing i can think of is my exaust valve guides leaking since there's a faint smell of stinky exaust in my oil. my father questioned my rings , but if they were bad i'd be burning oil too right?

i need as much help with this as possible as i can't drive my truck to work like this.

if it were your valve guides you would be burning a little bit of oil after you step on the gas from a compression brake, i had this problem in my pup but after i put new valve stem seals on it has seem to stop. sounds like your some how getting air pressure in your case, make sure your pcv is setup right. if its not that then i'm stumped.

My only geuss is that your rings are wearing out, but instead of burnin' oil you have a large amount of blow-by (sp?) that's building up pressure, us diesel guys have a tube that comes offa' the block and points down to releive the pressure. You could probably do the same thing with your truck.

Another thing you should check is that if the baffles inside the valve cover arent' clogged with anything, that'll be the answer to your oil cap problem
