i need a new hood release cable for my 83 pup, sorta kicked it gettin out the other day and the mounting plastic broke (the plastic that holds the cable in place right under the dash), if i cant get one ill have to use JB weld, man that stuff works wounders, but let me know whats out there, it gets really anoying when its hittin your foot every time you need to shift

Talk to a local custom motorcycle shop. THey can use your old cable as a pattern to build you a new one. Thats what i had to do.

the actuall cable its self is fine, still works, its just the plastic that holds it up out of the way in the cab broke

Autozone or advance or any auto parts store should have a help kit just for you except your plastic will look like a manual choke handle. that's all i can thing of except make one yourself.

ill check the auto parts stores tomarrow after i get paid, if not ill just have to use lots of ruber bands, wire ties, and jb weld
