I'm still looking for a rtough ear end that's strong and will bolt straight in without being narrowed believe it or not I found a ford 9in in a golf cart once I know I'm right as I used the gears in my truck I never measured at the time but I think the width would be about right [why a 9in was in a golf cart beats me ] anybody found any good fits????? the dana 44 out of a dj5 mail jeep would be a close fit it is actually about 2" narrower than the luv. its pretty durable 30 spline non tapper axles.the other bonus is most of them in the mail jeeps already have a posi. down side a large ford rim pattern is what i was told on the axle. i used to see em all the time here now that i want to buy one they seem not to exist.but if i had the money i would go for the 9" later

some buddies of mine about 10 years ago put a huge nitrous kit in a mail jeep. they were mechanics and just "had" it from somewhere. they put on some big tires and the thing screamed rubber on the pavement, and threw loads of mud. the weak link was the gearbox, it grenaded in third gear one day. i think they got about 6 outings in it. blew it on a shift from second to third and bam! 8O

it was fun while it lasted.
