Even thought the manual calls for 30 wt engine oil, I use 85 wt gear oil in my differentials and transmission here in the North Idaho Panhandle and have had no problems.

the fill/check plug is on the passenger side of the tranny. I have been running 30wieght for a while now and it dose shift eiseir and stuff. But i might go back to running 90wieght so it keeps wear down. As far as filling find out how much fluid your tranny takes and just pull the shifter out and dump it down the hole the sifter goes in. Its alot eisier and less messy.

I got one of those pumps that screw into quart bottles and fill the tranny or rear end until fluid leaks out the fill hole.
