I posted this ...but need help...Chev. luv 1.8 isuzu..changed head gasket now it mashes the plugs shut..no noise just closes the gap doubled the rings on plug still does it//any and all help appreciated..just an okie a little short of a full load...thanks Jim..dhalluin@hintonet.net

did this happen b4 you changed the head gasket? are the plugs the correct ones?
this one has me cornfused too :?

Well, logically, the only thing that could hit the spark plug would be the piston. I think that even with no head gasket, the piston still shouldn't hit the spark plug.

My guess is that you have the wrong spark plugs in it. I can't think of any other reason that would happen.

i agree with you ben, wrong plugs. maybe he should try shorter plugs.

Yep, seen it happen to a buddy. Not on a luv but it has to be the wrong plugs. Of course it seems like everytime I tinker with my engine, the engine gnomes come and steal the hard to find bolt or gasket that I need to finish the project, or mess with my tunning while I am asleep :sleeping: . Damn gnomes. :2gunfire:

gnomes don't come near my garage anymore.
I caught one, tortured it and hung it out front.

if you can catch one do the same.
you won't have any more problems.....LOL
