i am havin problems again. at idle, my truck seems to have an exhaust gurgle. with the hood open, the engine runs very smoothly, (thankd to a new weber carb) and doesnt miss or run poorly. but if you go to the back of the truck, you can hear the exhaust popping and chugging. the plugs look fine, and the carb is set right, (not running rich). could this be a muffler taking a poop (the exhaust system looks old). it is not sucking and blowing like a burned valve. thanks for any help

just get going down the road reeel good then turn the truck off while still in gear.....pump the gas a few times then turn the ignition back on.......the gas will fill the exhaust and when it ignites it WILL find the weak spot in the exhaust system!!!!!! :microwave: :onfire:
pretty much all those......

Hey grimace.
Thanks for the backup on that there spellin b. As for the exaust problem I would not recommend the luv4me solution, I have met, heard and seen first hand what that little trick can do to aluminium heads ( blown head gaskets, bent valves) Anyway I would have to go with the timing it may be just a hair off and the valves hav'nt fully closed before the spark is sent. Take the muffler off the pipe and see if it still making that noise. You would be surprised how much you can learn listening to open exaust.
Hope this helps... (BTW.. no offense luv4me)

Dave

Egg in the microwave... that's nothing. Try putting a CD in a microwave. It is quite the show. It doesn't blow up or anything, just a small controled lightning show and fire. 8)

yeah.....uh.....I guess I should have posted a reply to my solution of your problem. it was entirely meant to be funny. I would never do that to something I owned.

Have you checked the donut that connects the exhaust manifold to the exhaust pipe? it might be pulling air in there.

the warning to my reply might have been written like this.
WARNING! My previous reply was meant as a Comedic response only. DO NOT attempt without utter disrespect to your vehicle and Just downright trying to mess it up.

is that better guys??????
:-)
