8O I have alot of air coming from the oil fill when I removed the cap while the eng. was running. Is this normal on these engines or am I in for some major work?

First of all.....VERY nice to see you're back on here.I was really wondering whatever happened to you since I seen you here, have not seen you on since 8O

In re to your question: With engine running it IS normal to have alot of blow thru there. On my trip to Alabama in August i forgot to put cap back on when I put in 1/2 quart of oil in Dallas.I remebered this just as i got back on the hiway and immediately stopped.I lost almost a whole quart of oil in about 2/10 of a mile 8O

BTW.....parts you got here from me, they working out for ya ok?

Hey Lil Blue. Yea the parts worked good. Thanks again. I've been out of town alot lately and the the Luv has just been sitting in the drive way. I still can't get it to run right though. I think it's in the smog stuff somewhere. I wish I could just lose it all but thats a no no in Ca.
I've been hauling the bottom third of wind mill towers , 66ooo Lbs.,from El paso Tx. to Mojave Ca. (with a Peterbilt, not with Luv   ) .
This is my first weekend home in 3 weeks. And have been all over before that.

Yea. I saw some ugly stuff over there after Ivan hit . We waited in Houston for it to pass and headed in. We delivered to Duke field in Crestview Fl. which is only 50 miles into the state. We had to take some small back roads because of the bridges being out on I 10. What a sight. Very sad . People lost alot over there.

Thanks for the come backs on the air. It just seemed like alot of air compared to other engines I've worked on and it even had a funny sound coming from there. They do have a different kind of crank case vent system most others I've worked on before so who knows.
