While rummaging through a local "auto recyclers" this week, I came across this very nice '79 Mikado. Inside I found all the facotry documentation and in that was the operating instructions for the ARA Air Conditioning System. I didn't have a chance to look over the truck as I was drooling over the perfect front bumper, grille, headlight surrounds and carpet. From the paperwork the A/C looks to be an aftermarket setup, but like I said, I didn't look too closely. I will be going back in a week or so, but wondered if anyone knew about this setup. It was made my ARA Manufacturing Co., Grand Prairie, TX. If this system is in good shape I might have to add it onto mine '80.

PS I grabbed the paperwork from the '79. I have the warranty info, maintance schedule, and owners manual for a series 9 I can scan up for anyone that wants them.

that i also grabbed the LUV model CHV94 AM auto radio manual.. has some ok diagrams of the radio area of the dash and such.

I tried to find some info on them awhile back. There was the underdash part on ebay at the time. I came up empty. Good luck...
