I have a stock 79 2wd and last night on my home from work it was blowing smoke so dam bad and when I got home, its only a 5 min drive, the water temp was way up. I opened the hood, I could see that the overflow shot out some water and I removed a plug and found it was all fouled up. For the past couple days it really didn't have the "power" it used to, now this. I wanna say head gasket, I used to have an S-10, did basically the same thing and it was head gasket. Any other possibilities? Any advice would be great. Thanks

White or blue smoke?? Sounds like a head gasket to me... check your oil... see if it looks like peanut butter.

Hope it didn't warp anything...

if your lucky you only blew into the cooling system and not your oil pan, that's how mine went .......twice.

make sure that you get the head resurfaced and get the valve guides checked while it's out. you don't want it to go out in another six months.
