I want to set up my 76' 2wd Luv up as a Pre-Runner and I was looking and couldn't find any lifts kit's for a a 2wd I wanna lift the front like 6 or 7 inchs and lift the back about 5 inchs.
I pretty much have the back figured out I'm gonna try a 4 link setup with some SIMPSON coil overs. But the front I am stuck on since I wanna keep it 2 wheel drive and can't find a big enough lift kit. Any help/info would be GREATLY appreciated.

why so much lift? you should just do a body lift then flare the fenders....you can make a body lift it's not that hard...then you can run 33's on it or even cut a inch off on each fender then flare it and gain even more clearence. hope this helps

My wife had an 83 Isuzu PUP before I married her that was set up as a sort of pre-runner. All they did was put some crank into the torsion bars, body lift, and weld in a second set of shock mounts on the lower control arm. The rear was turned into a spring over with a leaf or two taken out, then dual shocks on each side coming up through the bed to the roll bar, which was welded to the frame. The front and rear fenders were cut out quite a bit as well. It fit 235/75R15 (~28 inch) tires with no rub. I think it had a 2 inch body lift all around.

I wasn't all that impressed with the hack job they did, but I think the idea had potential. There is an old post around here somewhere with a 4x4 LUV where the frame was cut and rewelded lower to drop the front suspension. That might be the best way to go in order to gain the kind of lift you are looking for.

you can get 2" of lift out of the torsion bars whith out sacraficing any durability. After that you tend to get too much spring rate increse and it can crack em. Then you could try making some drop spindles since its going to stay 2wd. Another otion might be making a coil over front suspension so you dont even have to deal whith the T-bars. This could give more options for lift, and i dont think it would be too hard to make some drop down brakets for the front end to get it sitting higher just like the chevy IFS lift kits do. Also if you whant a body lift i have a 3"er sitting on my work bench ill probly never use, drop me a message if you whant that.
