O.K. here's the story


the luv set for like three weeks just starting it up once a day not driving it though so when i getin it to drive it it's nearly out of gas so i coast down the hill to the gas station got it home later and putin in the garage used it to haul stuff up and down the hill but i eventually ranit dry out of gas and when i fainally got more gas for it about a week later it was leaking gas from around the carb i think it is leaking around the throttle pump on the carb what should i do and if it needs replaced what other carbs will fit it it has a stock 1.8 liter isuzu and i think the carb is stock

A weber dgev 32/36 is a good carb to replace the stocker.

WATCH YOUR PIEHOLE!!!!!!

That would be the accelerator pump and it will leak when it needs to be replaced. I think you can get the part seperate or it comes in a carb rebuild kit. It could also be leaking around the fuel inlet/needle valve assembly though. There is a bolt right where the fuel line goes into the carb, make sure that is tight and the two fuel lines don't move around. If you take off that bolt, the lines come off and you can get to and tighten the valve itself too if needed.

If you can get away with it (no smog testing) a Weber 32/36 with electric choke would be the replacement of choice. It costs about the same as getting a newly rebuilt stock hitachi carb if not less, and works so much better. If cost is an issue you could try a junkyard stock carb, but you might have to go through a few before you find a good one.
