Hi guys.. quick question: The truck's steering has nearly half to three quarters of a turn worth of play in it. I did some junior detective work and noticed that the play is contained within the steering box. In short, turning the wheel to the extent of the play didn't move the bar on the other end of the box. No clue what that bar's called.. Anyhow.. I've heard that the box is adjustable, is this an adjustment problem or do I need a new box? Thanks

Yes there is an adjustment. The little screw with a nut on it on the steering box is the adjustment. All you do is loosen the nut, and adjust the screw SLOWLY until you get all the slop out. Then tighten the nut while holding the screw. Then check your steering to make sure it is not too stiff, and doesn't bind up. Try doing this with the front end on jack stands.
