Luv bucket. then I'd guess Trooper. There are tons of different buckets that will fit well. some need a little more work than others, but you'd be suprised what will fit. i think the bucket in my first luv were from a Hyundai. :?

Ok John, you peaked my interest since I love my Aerostar buckets. How in the heck did you cram them tall suckers into that little truck?

In some other post, someone said that Luv buckets dont fold so you have to slid 'em forward. I'm thiking a trooper would better. Can you just place the seat where you want and drill holes or are they any tricks/tips to know before installing them.

Well, i dont know what are THE easiest bucket seats one could put in a Luv, but i took a pair from an 89 olds cutlass cierra and put in my 80 4x4 and they are VERY comfy and they look great. They dont cram the cab full like ones out of 88 Cougar that i had in there, those were a lil too much.

The thing to consider is that the mount points for the bench seat are on a hump in the floorboard. If you set the outer rail of a bucket seat flat down on the hump, you have to put something under the inner rail to make them sit even. The "hump" also slopes from higher in the front to about an inch lower in the back. Basically, get your seats fitted to the hump in the floor and bolted in, then wedge up the other side to measure what your spacer needs to be. The spacer could be made of a chunk of wood or whatever you can manage.

This is assuming the bucket seats you find to put in don't already account for some of this. I had mid-70s Camaro seats in my 79 when I got it and they had something of a spacer bracket on the rails on both sides. To avoid the hump causing a problem, the prior owner bolted the front of that side rail just ahead of the hump. It worked, but the seats were so huge that it felt more like getting strapped into the cockpit of a fighter jet than sitting in a truck. (not much leg room) I actually went back to a bench in that truck and it is much more comfortable.

I said Trooper buckets because they are a good size (not too deep) but it shouldn't be too hard to fit any seat in there. It is sort of just drill holes where the bolts line up, you just have to account for the floorboard not being completely flat.

Areostar seats fit into my 80 4x4 so good I wish I would of put them into my 79 I drive everyday. I just removed the bottom slider on the seat,And welded threaded rods onto the bolts to extend them. Put the slider back onto the bottom of the seat. Cut the right length pipe for spacers, and used washers, top and bottom, to make the seat set in there right. tighten everything, cut the threaded rod ends off under the truck, and they recline, and slide. I really like the armrest and I set the seat up inside higher than normal.(good for off roading) I like them alot better than the bench seat. I have alot more room inside the truck now. If you look at the rear end pic of my 80 in the gallery you can see at that point of the project , I only had the drivers seat in, although you can see about how high the head rest are.
